Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers hosted in Australia. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in a readable form.
Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel only.
Sharing your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
We may share data in the following limited circumstances:
- With other Countaroo users, when you explicitly use sharing features (e.g. sharing a counter link or sending a template to a contact)
- With service providers who help us operate the App (e.g. email delivery), under strict data processing agreements
- If required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users
Push notifications
If you grant permission, we store your device’s Expo push token to deliver reminders and notifications. You can revoke notification permission at any time from your device Settings. You can also manage notification preferences within the Countaroo app.
Email communications
If you have an account, we may send you:
- Transactional emails (password reset, email verification)
- Reminder emails you have configured
- A daily digest email (if you have opted in)
You can unsubscribe from digest and reminder emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or from Settings in the app. Transactional emails (such as password resets) cannot be unsubscribed from as they are necessary for account security.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings/Account/Delete Account.
